This week on the Queer and Queerer podcast we dive head first into the Anthony Weiner “scandal.” So he showed some saucy pics on Twitter, but what did he actually do wrong? Listen as Peterson and Zack consider the matter from a perspective of sexual liberation.
And then, we offer some tips on how to do it in public! We share insider tips about how to give great workshops at conferences, with a brief lesson on Howard Gardner’s (not John Gardner’s) multiple intelligences.
Peterson has lots of background sounds and Zack sounds like he’s in a submarine and getting everyone’s name wrong (sorry, Sen. Kyl — kind of), but the discussion will be so captivating you won’t even notice!

I’m upset with the furor over Mr. Weiner’s actions.
Clearly the man is mortified, and now has tons of trouble at home. So why kick the man when he is down?
The self-righteous calls for his resignation seem mean-spirited to me — like throwing him to the sharks.
Granted, I don’t recommend his course of actions. I doubt if he would now, either!
Let’s be real. FDR, JFK, LBJ, MLK, Bill Clinton, Ed Rendell, Arnold Schwarzenegger — powerful men in public office are sometimes prone to sexual stupidity.
But that doesn’t make them any less as leaders.
I wish the American public would grow up, and let Mr. Weiner learn in his time of agony.
I wonder sometimes that we don’t have similar jokes about the members of the media as we do, say, lawyers. The treatment of Mr. Weiner seems a feeding frenzy to me, very shark like. And why? What really motivates our media? Ironically, to sell VIagra or some other consumable. Lofty cause. I’m sure Mr. Weiner’s tormentors are all monogamous or celibate, as committed to their ideas of morality as priests.
And that’s what bugs me most about this. Why do we, generally as a culture, empower the would be judges and moralizers when it comes to sex? Why do we let them decide and dictate what is ‘good’ or ‘bad?’ When are we going to have a campaign against the bullies in the media? The government? The churches?
I read a line in a book, the gist was: ” …a conservative is a liberal who’s never been arrested….”
I agree with Peterson, I wish Mr. Weiner had not gotten caught in the trap of shame and embarrassment that he did, that he had the presence of mind to tell the media and his accusers to fuck off.
